RAND: Health Insurance Subsidies Will Not Have Significant Effect on Uninsured
A recent study from the RAND Corporation shows that government subsidies will only reduce the
uninsured population by an estimated 3 percent. The study contradicts supporters' claims that cutting health insurance premiums in half would allow a large number of individuals to enroll in health insurance plans. Many of the 45 million uninsured Americans are from mid to low income families, without employer coverage, who do not meet the requirements for Medicaid.
